A cited assistant on your website, in one line

Paste one script tag into your site, or open one URL in your app's WebView. Visitors ask in their own words; the assistant answers from your project's knowledge and shows where every answer came from.

  • One script tag
  • Android & iOS WebView
  • Public or signed-in users

What is the SupaCortex chat widget?

The chat widget is an assistant you embed in a website with a single script tag, or in a mobile app through a WebView URL. It answers from one project's knowledge with numbered citations, and works in two modes: public, for anonymous visitors on the websites you allow, and identified, where your backend signs a short-lived token so the assistant knows the user and their company. Each project sets its own title, colour, greeting and quick actions, and visitors can rate every answer.

  • One script tag for websites; a mobile URL for Android and iOS WebViews.
  • Public mode: only on websites you list, rate-limited, no customer data.
  • Identified mode: a token your server signs, valid for at most 15 minutes.
  • Title, colour, greeting and up to eight quick actions per project.
  • Citations on every answer; thumbs up and down for feedback.
  • Administrators can read conversations per project.

The snippet comes from the project's widget settings, with its key already filled in. The key is public by design - in public mode the widget only loads on the websites you have listed.

How it works

From settings to a live widget

  1. 01

    Set it up

Choose the title, colour, greeting and quick actions, and the websites allowed to show it.

  2. 02

    Paste the snippet

One script tag before the closing body tag - or the mobile URL in your app's WebView.

  3. 03

    Identify users, if you want

For signed-in users, your backend signs a short-lived token with the project's widget secret.

  4. 04

    Read and improve

Conversations and ratings show which answers land and which documents are missing.

In detail

Two modes, two kinds of visitor

Public mode: for anyone on your site

A how-to question from a prospect or a customer who has not signed in.

  • Answers from the project's shared knowledge only - never from customer-specific content.
  • Loads only on the websites you list in the project's settings.
  • Rate-limited per conversation and per visitor address, to keep abuse cheap to ignore.
  • No access to your systems, except general lookups you have explicitly marked safe for the public - never actions, never anything about a particular customer.

Anything indexed into the project is answerable here. Keep internal or private material in a different project.

Identified mode: for your signed-in users

Inside your product, the assistant can know who is asking - and answer about their account, not just the manual.

  • Your backend signs a token with the user and their company, valid for at most 15 minutes.
  • Content tagged for that company becomes searchable for its users, and only for them.
  • With a connector, it can look up their orders or tickets, or raise a request after they confirm.
  • Who is asking comes from the verified token - never from what the user typed.
Frequently asked

Questions people ask before they start

Public mode is for anonymous visitors: it answers from the project's shared knowledge, only on the websites you list, with rate limits, and it never acts in your systems or looks up a customer's data. Identified mode is for your signed-in users: your backend signs a short-lived token saying who they are and which company they belong to, so the assistant can also answer from their own content and, if you connect your systems, their own data.

No. In identified mode the user and their company come from the token your server signs, which expires within 15 minutes. Nothing the user types can change who the assistant thinks is asking.

Each project's widget settings give you a mobile URL to open in an Android or iOS WebView. It is the same assistant, with the same knowledge and the same citations, as the website version.

Per project you set the title, the main colour, the greeting and up to eight quick-action buttons with the questions people ask most. The widget shows citations under every answer.

No. Website visitors and app users are never seats. Plans include a number of widget sessions a month - 2,000 on Starter, 20,000 on Growth, 200,000 on Business and unlimited on Enterprise - and answers use AI credits.

Yes. Administrators can read each project's widget conversations, with the ratings visitors gave. Only administrators, because transcripts can contain customer details.
